Turkey will invest $40 Billion for railways in 10 years
Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yildirim said that Turkey is planning to invest $40 billion for railway projects.
Yildirim said Turkey has invested $20 billion until 2003 and planning to make $40 billion valued investment in 10 years.
He said the preparations are continuing for the tender of high-speed train. According to him 80 units of high-speed train sets are important. According to last changes made by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), Haydarpasa Train Station will be the last station of high-speed train.
Uskudar-Cekmekoy metro line’s biggest pat will be opened at the end of 2016. Yildirim said Uskudar will be connected to Marmaray with this line. New connection’s work between Kartal and Sabiha Gokcen Airport continues. Total railway system in Istanbul will be 800km in around 6-7 years.
