Boasting the only roller coaster in Istanbul, Isfanbulis considered the best amusement park in the city. There are more than 20 areas inside Isfanbul. Either glide through the air at a speed exceeding 110 km, lose yourself in the river that tosses you around, or experience what it feels like to fly down a waterfall in a boat. If you say, “No, I can’t take that much adrenaline”, you can visit the live museum or go bowling instead. Isfanbul, open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on weekdays, and 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. on weekends, has an entry fee of 55 TL for adults and 50 TL for students on weekdays. On weekends the entry fee is 65 TL for adults, 55 TL for students.

If you want to go on a trip under the sea or get lost in the depths of the ocean, then head to the aquarium in Florya. There are a total of 15,000 terrestrial and marine species at the Istanbul Aquarium. You can see these species including alligators, piranhas, sharks and poison frogs every day of the week from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.. The entry fee is 35 TL for adults and 25 TL for students, on weekdays and weekends.

This funfair, a symbol of the Anatolian Side since the 1980s, is actually the ideal place for nostalgia. By this, we mean that it is ideal for children as well as those who want to return to their childhood even for one day. Here you can find all kinds of traditional funfair attractions like a carousel, bumper cars, octopus, children’s train, pirates ship and tunnel of horror. You can visit this world of amusement every day of the week from 11 a.m. – midnight. There is no entrance fee. Once ticket is 6 TL, 10 tickets are 50 TL.

Turkuazoo, located in Forum Istanbul Shopping Centre in Bayrampaşa, is the first aquarium in Turkey. There are 43 live exhibition aquariums in Turkuazoo with over 10,000 spicies. You can see fish from all over the world in, and even join the diving training given by experts to swim with sharks as well as receive a certificate. Turkuazoo is open every day of the week from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.. The entry fee is 32 TL for adults and 24 TL for students.

If you are exhausted from the heat, you can either ski or snowboard at snowpark in Torium Shopping Centre in Haramidere, or just fulfill you longing for winter by making a snowman. Don’t worry if you have no gloves or coat. All these are included in the entry fee. Snowpark is open every day of the week from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.. The entry fee is 20 TL per person on weekdays and 27 TL on weekends. But there is a family discount.

At the ice rink at Optimum Shopping Centre in Kadıköy, you can ice-skate to your heart’s content without a care for the people around. If you wish to become a professional, you can also take the first step towards you goal by taking lessons from a professional trainer. A session costs 15 TL on weekdays and 20 TL on weekends.

At Fun Lab Amusement World located in Cevahir Shopping Centre in Şişli, there are nearly 20 play areas from horror ship to crazy shark, fun tower and bumper cars. It is possible to find a means of entertainment for all ages. This amusement centre is open 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. every day except monday. You must purchase a card for 2 TL and loan credit. Each game requires a different amount of credit. 1 credit costs 1 TL.

It is possible to see exact miniatures of many historical buildings from various periods in history, from the Ancient Roman and Greek civilizations to Byzantium, from Seljuk to the Ottoman Empire in Miniapark in Sütlüce. The miniatures in Miniatürk are not limited to Istanbul: you can see many miniatures, from Safranbolu Houses to the Sümela Monastery in Turkey, even those dating back to Ottoman times but currently outside the borders of Turkey. You can visit Miniatürk from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. every day. The entry fee is 5 TL for adults and 3 TL for students on weekdays and weekends.

Sofalar Kumluğu in Şile is the only place where you can do a desert safari in Istanbul. Anyone in good health and over 16 can enjoy riding ATVs here. Expert guides accompany you along this fun but bumpy nature trail. You receive brief training prior to the ATV safari tour. The tour takes almost two hours including the training. The price includes driving instruction, photo and video shoots throughout the tour, equipment like a helmet, gloves and boiler suit. Tours are held at 10 a.m., 12 noon, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 p.m. every day except monday, with a price of 55 TL both on weekdays and weekends.

Istanbul Karting Park, built on an area covering 5,000 square meters in Acıbadem, has a 300 meter-long track. Everyone that puts on a helmet and takes the necessary safety precautions can enjoy driving and racing to their heart’s content. Istanbul Karting Park is open every day of the week from 10 a.m. – midnight. Prices are based on minutes: five minutes costs 10 TL, 10 minutes costs 15 TL and 30 minutes costs 45 TL.

At Taktikal Paintball Centre in Beykoz, you can team up, plan your tactics and have a close battle with the opposing team. But be careful: this is not a game for small children. Speed and avoidance of the colorful paintballs is what counts. If you get hit, you might get a little hurt and painted. But don’t be afraid, they provide you with a protective vest, boiler suit and mask before you hit the field. Entrance, including equipment is 30 TL both on weekdays and weekends.

If you too are passionate about off-road driving, you must go on a tour organized by Istanbul Jeep Safari. This enjoyable and adventurous tour, starting off in Ayazağa and heading towards Kirazlı Bent, takes nearly four hours to complete, including a break. Prices depend on the tours. There are individual packages for 150 TL, 200 TL and 300 TL.

Jurassic Land, built on an area of 10,000 square meters in Bayrampaşa Forum Istanbul, is the biggest dinosaur-themed park in Europe. There are 70 life-size dinosaurs in the park. The park also contains a 4D cinema and a science center with five units. The entry fee is 32 TL for adults and 25 TL for children.

Istanbul Dolphinarium, being the largest indoor dolphinarium in Europe, has opened its doors to public at the end of 2008. Istanbul Dolphinarium is a joint project between Turkish Republic and Russian Federation and takes an important role in improving cultural and social relations between the two countries. The opening ceremony of Istanbul dolphinarium was attended by Kadir Topbaş (Mayor of Istanbul), Leonid Slutskiy (1st vice-president of International Affairs Committee of RF Parliament), Lev Muhamedov (CEO of Utrij Dolphinarium) and many other state authorities, businessmen, students and Istanbul residents.

The zoo is located (in Darıca) approximately 40 minutes drive outside of Istanbul’s center and is a great day out for children. There are many animals to see and a huge variety of plants and flowers to discover. It is entertaining and educational and houses an excellent restaurant, which will suit the tastes of both you and your children. There is also a gift shop, where souvenirs can be purchased.

Istanbul Toy Museum was founded by poet/author Sunay Akın on 23 April 2005. The museum which houses the most favorite examples of toy history, spanning from 1700’s to today is located in a historical mansion.

Şişli Belediyesi Bilim Merkezi is a center in Fulya, built to attract the attention of children to science. Math puzzles, surprising exhibitions, workshops, summer schools and conferences are among the facilities offered. Interactive programs and animations cover a range of subjects from maths and physics to earthquakes and fire-fighting. Take a ride on the Bouncing Electrons or see the destructive force of a 7.4 magnitude earthquake.

Istanbul’s first public stationary planetarium “Discovery Sphere” (Keşif Küresi) has been opened at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum on the grounds of Lengerhane.

The Eden’s Garden International Preschool is found in Istanbul, Turkey. The school would offer both half day and a full day program depending on the person’s social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development. Galatasaray Pony Club, situated in Maslak, looks like a valley surrounded by a dense forest. Educations are made with 25 school horses with different size and breed. On riding courses, students get their training on a pony. Safety of students while training are ensured by attendants. For those who wish to get training in a different language, English, French and German speaking trainers are available. All training staff are women.

The only bowling hall in the city which offers guard rails along sides of the lanes it makes bowling more fun for children since their ball won’’t go in the gutter. Moreover they organize special tournaments and birthday parties for children. There are also dart and pin game.

Fourth is robotics workshop where first we find an idea and sketch it, then build the sketch from Legos and bring it to life with robotics. Fifth and last is animation workshop where we first create a 3D design then fictionize a story for the design.

The Ataturk Arboretum, comprising part of Belgrade Forest, contains a spectacular collection of plants and trees from around the world. Located only 20 km from Istanbul, this 345 hectare peaceful sanctuary is sanctuary for nature lovers.

Located in the Marmara Sea, the group of nine islands is known as the Prince Islands and is only an hour away from the city. There are regular ferry services to four of the islands from the entrance of the Golden Horn and Kabatas Pier.

In Byzantine times a number of monasteries were built here, and the islands served both as summer resorts and a place for exiles. In Heybeli Ada copper was mined and in the courtyard of the Naval Academy there is a small church dedicated to the Virgin. This is the last Byzantine structure in the city.
